NGAI Alert #11-1; 1 Oct 2011
Welcome to the very first NGAI Alert, 11-1!
White House Petition; http://www.whitehouse.gov/wethepeople
Dear NGAI Member,
We have been working hard this year on updating our membership records and adding email addresses enabling us to communicate with you in a more efficient, effective and most important, timely manner. It is going to be an extremely crucial year for the National Guard as our legislators consider all means possible in tackling the national debt. If history is any indicator, the National Guard will be a major bill payer in reducing the overall defense budget. It is more important than ever that we communicate with our legislators to voice our concerns. NGAUS and EANGUS are only as effective as the combined state membership strength behind them. They are the boots on the ground at Capitol Hill, but you are the weapons. We need every member to get involved in communicating with your legislators. The NGAUS legislative alerts are an invaluable tool for that communication. Anyone can use the NGAUS legislative alert process. You do not have to be a member to use their CAPWIZ system. They provide a direct link via your zip code to your representatives. A sample letter is completed for your convenience or you have the option to add own personal edit. Please take the time to get involved in your future. We have included the most recent Legislative Alert below for your action. Just click on the link provided.
Another very important NGAUS Alert has just come out for a link to a White House website for a petition supporting a seat at the table for the Chief of the National Guard Bureau. We need 5000 signatures on this petition before the White House staff will even review it. So please scroll down and take action on both the legislative alert and the White House petition at http://www.whitehouse.gov/wethepeople. Please note that you cannot access this site from a government computer as the link is blocked.
Please visit our new web site at www.NGAI.net for the latest news and information from your association. Our 2012 membership campaign is just around the corner and we hope that you will find the on line membership enrollment a convenient feature. Please check the site often to stay informed.
Thank you for your support and stay tuned for a busy year.
